Dr Gaurang Shah has been in private practice since 1984 and is a solo practitioner with Gastroenterology Associates of Northeast Florida. As a Principal Investigator his #1 goal is to enhance the quality of life for all his patients, making his approach to medicine as treating the whole person, not just the symptoms. Dr Shah was listed as one of the youngest physicians to become board certified in both internal medicine and gastroenterology and completed his gastroenterology fellowship at University Hospital in Jacksonville (now UF & Shands). He served as Chair of the Quality Assurance Department at Specialty Hospital between 1998-2002 and then transitioned to the role of President of Medical Staff at Specialty Hospital. Dr Shah served as Chair of the Department of Gastroenterology at Memorial Hospital and in 2006 he became a Fellow of the American Gastroenterology Association. Staying updated with the latest technology, education, and procedures has earned him local and national recognition. In 2001 he was named one of the best doctors in the Jacksonville, one of the top doctors in the state of Florida in 2002, and was listed in the Guide to America’s Top Physicians in 2003, 2004, 2005, and 2007, an honor awarded by the Consumers’ Research Council of America.
